Jayson Stark's Blogs

I would like to promote the blog of Jayson Stark who covers Major League Baseball for ESPN. The blog was posted at the beginning of October covering the different playoff scenarios. Playoff rules changed this year for baseball and there were some scenarios that happened that took the playoff chase down to the wire. At the beginning of the last day of the regular season, only one playoff game was set, the Braves and the Cardinals. He does a great job of going into great detail about each scenario about what could happen and who would end up playing who. Jayson Stark is well respected around baseball for his inside coverage for America’s game. He always has the latest and up to date information that huge fans want to know. He does a good job of dumbing it down for the amateur of fans, but also goes into the great depth that people are in the know about everything that goes on. I really enjoy reading his blogs and what he has to say. A lot of the time he is on TV explaining the same thing he has wrote about or is going to write about, so you can hear what he has to say to through your TV. If you would like to check out his blogs, either go to the MLB section on ESPN’s website or you can simply google Jayson Stark. Everything he writes about has a purpose and I really enjoy that about his posts.

Product Recommendation Again

Here’s to another product recommendation for my store! The product I will be talking about today is the hood sweatshirt with my company’s logo on it. It is a cotton sweatshirt that is extremely warm and comfortable for those days when it is a bit chilly outside. It makes a great gift for anyone who loves my store or sports memorabilia because people know my store. People are probably wondering what size to order in case it shrinks, but I promise you that it will not, otherwise you will get 100% of your money back. A lot of sweatshirts come tight in the neck also, and I made sure when I designed this product that it did not come this way. I have seen people that ruin new sweatshirts by cutting it at the corner of the hood to give them more neck room and it looks bad, plus it is also a waste of money. So be sure to buy this product from my store, you will love it. Again, thanks again for visiting my blog and reading what I have to say about my business. Also by buying this sweatshirt, it helps give my company more publicity. The more, the better to me. I am trying to make this the best sports memorabilia store around so word of mouth and wearing around the logo will help me out significantly. I also want to reiterate that I’m here for the customers, so if you have any ideas for products, please feel free to suggest them to me.

Dri-fit shirt!

Again, welcome back to my blog for my online store. The one and only, hopefully to become famous soon, Blake’s Hall of Fame Sports Memorabilia. My goal is to make this experience as fulfilling and easy as possible. If you are on the website trying to get some gift ideas, I do have some recommendations for you to try to make this process easier. Some things I would recommend are the clothing items that we have available that have the store’s name a logo on it. These may just be normal clothing products, but if the store is going to turn out like I planned, you can say you were one of the first people to shop from my store. We have a wide range of clothes to offer, but the product that I am going to recommend to you is the Dri-fit white t-shirt. Dri-fit shirts are the new technology whether playing sports or wearing shirts recreationally. They feel lighter and softer, but they also absorb moisture and wetness. For athletes, this is huge. Athletes sweat like crazy and that can make it hard in controlling their respective sports object, like pitching a baseball or throwing a football because sweat is dripping down their arm to their hands. If you buy this shirt, it will absorb wetness in the sleeve so it does not get down to your hand. Be sure you make the purchase today for your athlete that is competing every day to make you proud and also give him the competitive advantage.

Sneeze Page of Recent Posts

Here’s a look at the posts I have done over the past couple of weeks, so you can easily choose which ones you would like to read. I will give you the name of the blog post and give an excerpt from each article to use  as help when trying to figure out which one you want to read.

The first article is called “Reasons I got into the Sporting Business”:

“The final reason I got into sports is because I want to spread my knowledge and passion to other fans, whether seasoned or new. Sports is a multibillion dollar industry and is involved in so many lives and everyone should be able to have the chance to enjoy it, and I just want to help spread the knowledge and gear” (http://blakeshofsports.blogspot.com/2012/10/reasonsi-got-into-sporting-business-1.html)

The second article is called “Promoting Derek Hart”:

“I would like to promote the blog of Derek Hart. He recently wrote about the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and I think this blog relates to mine because the Angels made history this season in more than one way and some of their memorabilia will be worth a lot of money someday.” (http://blakeshofsports.blogspot.com/2012/10/promoting-derek-hart.html)

The third post was called “Products to Buy!”:

“If you are on the website trying to get some gift ideas, I do have some recommendations for you to try to make this process easier. Anything that is related to the sports industry can be expensive and knowing that everything is certified authentic makes it even more competitive when it comes to pricing.” (http://blakeshofsports.blogspot.com/2012/10/products-to-buy.html)

Link Post- Taking sports away from kids?

How can you ever say sports are bad for anyone? You want to try and get them out of schools because you think they cost too much money and distract kids from their studies? America is known for being great at sports at it is a huge industry in the United States. David Safier has been writing a three part blog on the internet, with his latest post called, “After school sports are bad for education” (http://arizona.typepad.com/blog/2008/03/after-school-sp.html). He claims that America is one of the worst ratings academically wise for kids in school, and teachers scratch their heads trying to figure out why, and he is blaming it on sports. I find this ridiculous. If you take sports out of school, it was have so many affects besides education. One of the long term affects is it was drive competition downwards in professional sports because people won’t be in sports as long so they won’t be as developed and people will stop watching which means they lose money because of poor ratings. Some short term effects are obesity and more kids will be on the streets. Obesity is already a big concern in this country and if you take sports away from schools it will lead to unhealthy kids and that could make it harder to learn. A big concern from taking sports away is that means more kids in the streets. A big reason kids do sports is because it is something structured to where they stay out of trouble and in a safe place to where them and their parents know they won’t be in any harm, so I think this article about sports is terrible!

Review

I think “Sports Illustrated” is the best sporting magazine out there. You get all of these magazines now a days that are trying to be competitive in the sports journalism industry and this magazine basically started it all and has survived anything that has tried to come at it and mock it. They have, in my opinion, one of the best investigative sports writers in the journalism world that has so much inside information that he publishes online and in the magazine in Peter King. He is so good at what he does NBC even hired him to work Sunday Night Football in America to give the latest information going on around the league because that is what fans what to hear. Fans become so attached to their teams that they feel like they are a part of the organization so they want to know what is going on and happening so they know what to expect. I think Sports Illustrated is at the top of the industry, definitely a first class company. They adapted so well to market changes by publishing online and packaging deals with the Madden NFL games for fans so they were more likely to subscribe. I think their main competitor is ESPN the magazine in that they have both been around for a long time and are both so good at what they do in being such great investigators that fans read both of them, but in the end I think Sports Illustrated is definitely the best!

Analyzation

After reviewing all kinds of blogs recently in my niche of sports and memorabilia I discovered all kinds of things. On the sports side, they like to stay very current with up to date information for their fans that follow them, they try to stay away from the past. They stay current with what is hot because that is what people want to learn about so they can stay informed. For example, everyone likes to talk about Tim Tebow and when he is going to take over for Mark Sanchez in running of the New York Jets. Personally, I can’t stand anymore of Tebow, but that is what sells. Now, vice versa, when it comes to memorabilia, the older and more preserved the better. The better condition it is in, the more money  you can make off of it and they talk about how to keep it kept up maintenance wise. Sometimes they like to talk about items going into auction soon and how much things end up selling for. The sports industry is so big, people will pay almost anything for certain items. They like to keep their audience of all levels whether advanced sports fans or for the modest ones. They usually post every day, but sometimes they with do it every couple of days because they need time to research the topic they end up writing about. I feel like they write from the standpoint of  a radio broadcaster because they are voicing their own opinion on things.

Products to buy!

Welcome to my online store. The one and only, hopefully to become famous soon, Blake’s Hall of Fame Sports Memorabilia. For most of you, this is your first time visiting this site, and hopefully not your last either. My goal is to make this experience as fulfilling and easy as possible. If you are on the website trying to get some gift ideas, I do have some recommendations for you to try to make this process easier. Anything that is related to the sports industry can be expensive and knowing that everything is certified authentic makes it even more competitive when it comes to pricing. The two things I would recommend are my autographed jerseys and autographed pictures. The jerseys are the more expensive item so be sure the person means a whole lot more to you of course! Everything on the jersey is authentic down to the very last thread. Some jerseys in stock are game worn and some were just bought authentic and then signed. The game worn jerseys are more expensive than the regular ones, but not by much and if you buy it, you can say that this player wore it! Most of the pictures I have that are autographed are made out to the people in the picture because they had it taken with that particular athlete so they are less expensive because they are hard to sell, but I do have some regular pictures that are autographed too. These would make great gifts for anyone in the immediate but extended family!

Promoting Derek Hart

I would like to promote the blog of Derek Hart. He recently wrote about the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and I think this blog relates to mine because the Angels made history this season in more than one way and some of their memorabilia will be worth a lot of money someday.  His blog is through lasportshub.com. The Angels made a huge step in their franchise by calling up the top prospect in the major leagues at the time in Mike Trout. At 21 years old he is an MVP candidate as a rookie and is the youngest player to hit at least 30 home runs and have 40 stolen bases. No one has done that since Ted Williams, one of the greatest of all time, so he has set the bar high for the rest of his career. My advice to you is start buying your Mike Trout gear now!! Another big move the Angels made was signing 2 time MVP, Albert Pujols, and All Star pitcher, CJ Wilson. All that money spent, plus top prospects that are all stars as rookies, but they miss the playoffs? How? Derek breaks it down in his blog and does a really good job. I love reading his posts because he knows so much about the Angels and goes into great detail about what went wrong for their team. You can tell he really loves his team.

Reasons I Got Into the Sporting Business:

1.      Growing up and having such great parents, I got pushed into sports. My parents were athletes growing up and they thought it was important for me to get involved in them not only for exercise, but to meet the great friends I grew up with my entire life. The same kids I grew up with playing baseball, basketball, and football with, are still my best friends even though we go to different colleges. Sports bring everyone closer together. If you know sports you can talk to almost anyone.

2.      I love sports items. Whether it is a jersey, rookie card, or even just an autographed ticket, each item has its own story. I collect pretty much every ticket for each event I go to and because every time I look through them, I can pretty much remember the game and whether something significant happened or not. Also it shows your passion for a particular player or team and you can again, relate to other fans. Even if it is a fan of the rival team, you can get into heated arguments because you are so competitive, but that’s sports! And I love it!

3.      The final reason I got into sports is because I want to spread my knowledge and passion to other fans, whether seasoned or new. Sports is a multibillion dollar industry and is involved in so many lives and everyone should be able to have the chance to enjoy it, and I just want to help spread the knowledge and gear.
